On August 25, 2026, the third issue of the journal “Theological Bulletin of the Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary” was published this year (No. 32(32), 2026). The new issue of the “Theological Bulletin” continues the tradition of cooperation with leading experts in the field of theological, church‑historical, and humanities disciplines, based on partnerships with spiritual and secular higher educational institutions. This ensures a high level of scientific research. The current issue features a wide range of articles with theological and church‑historical focus, as well as reviews of contemporary scholarly works. Traditionally, the “Publications” section includes archival documentary materials that are being introduced into scholarly circulation for the first time. In the third issue of 2026, particular attention should be paid to such studies as the first part of A. V. Danilov’s extensive work on the theological synthesis of philosophy in John Duns Scotus, as well as articles on Orthodox anthropology, comparative theology, and the history of the Church in the 20th century. The historical section includes works on church–state relations, the history of spiritual education, and repressions against Greek religious communities in Crimea. The “Publications” section features for the first time the personal notes of priest Georgy Kovalev, which shed light on the church life of the Smolensk region in 1935–1936, as well as archival documents of the Kalinin Diocesan Administration from 1967–1971. The journal “Theological Bulletin of the Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary” is a scientific publication of the Smolensk Seminary, one of the oldest spiritual educational institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church. The journal was established with the blessing of Metropolitan Isidor of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh, with the participation of the teaching staff of the theological school. It should be recalled that as of December 19, 2023, the Theological Bulletin of the Smolensk Orthodox Theological Seminary is included in the current List of Peer‑Reviewed Publications (No. 2563) of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC). The journal is indexed in the scientific database “Russian Science Citation Index” (RSCI). and is included in the All‑Church List of journals recommended for publishing the results of research by candidates for academic degrees in theology and church history.
